PRP Hair Treatment

How Does PRP Hair Treatment Work?

PRP therapy works by injecting the patient’s own concentrated platelet-rich plasma into the scalp to stimulate and reactivate dormant or weakened hair follicles, encouraging them to produce thicker, healthier hair.

The treatment begins with a simple blood draw, typically from the arm. The collected blood is then processed in a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells from the plasma. The resulting PRP is rich in growth factors and is injected into targeted areas of the scalp using a fine needle, delivering nutrients directly to the follicles.

This process boosts blood flow to the scalp, nourishes hair follicles, and helps support natural hair regrowth. A course of 2–3 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart is typically recommended, though results can vary based on individual needs.

What can PRP Hair Treatment help with?

Post-Hair Transplant Stimulation

After getting an FUE hair transplant, we use PRP injections to stimulate the newly transplanted hair follicles. This helps to shorten the healing time and increase the rate of successful grafts.

Alopecia

At Skin Nourish Academy, we have successfully treated numerous individuals experiencing alopecia using PRP therapy. Many of our clients have seen significant improvements in both hair thickness and regrowth. These results highlight PRP as a highly effective, non-surgical solution for managing and potentially reversing the effects of alopecia by reactivating weakened or dormant hair follicles naturally.

Male/Female Pattern Baldness

Platelet-rich-plasma therapy is an effective treatment for both female and male pattern baldness, as it helps to stimulate and repair damaged hair follicles. We will need to assess the stage of pattern baldness you are at before we can decide on the best treatment plan for you.

Menopause Hair Loss

PRP therapy is proving to be a powerful treatment for menopause-related hair loss. By delivering concentrated growth factors directly into the scalp, it helps to stimulate hair follicles that have been affected by hormonal changes. This targeted approach supports natural hair regrowth, repairs hormonal damage, and results in thicker, fuller hair—making it a promising option for women experiencing hair thinning during or after menopause.

Thinning Hair

PRP therapy offers a non-invasive, natural solution for individuals experiencing thinning hair. By using the body's own platelet-rich plasma to stimulate hair follicles, it encourages regrowth and strengthens existing hair without the need for surgery. Many patients report noticeable improvement in hair density and scalp health after a series of treatments, making PRP a preferred alternative to more invasive procedures like hair transplants.
